HISTORY:

After three decades of producing young achievers through quality education, in February 2011, the school owners of the former Saint Claire School announced that it will eventually be closed. Believing that the school is an illustrious institution that has produced graduates ready to make a difference, a collective effort of some investors boosted by the encouragement of most parents, Saint Claire School has been rebuilt and renamed St. Claire Foundation of Knowledge, Inc.

The rebuilding saw the transition of administration from the matriarch and patriarch of the former owners to the new group of dedicated investors who embraced the immense influence of educational institutions. Forming the Board of Directors were Atty. Mariano R. Santiago, President; Ms. Aileen Gonzales-Querol, Vice-President; Mr. Benjamin Agustin, Secretary; Ms. Christina Millanes, Treasurer; Engr. Eugene Lim, Member; Mr. Mike Yao, Member; Ms. Shalani Soledad-Romulo, Member; Ms. Jenny Vie Larracas, Member; and Mr Rosendo So. Member.

Besides the aforementioned policymakers, Ms. Elma F. Pedregosa was installed as the School Principal to oversee the re-development of the students’ academic training. Ms. Pedregosa together with the members of the Academic Council initiated development in the school curriculum and student activities.

Alongside the revisit of the academic preparation, numerous physical improvements were made such as the construction of the Multi-Purpose Gymnasium and Mini-Theatre inaugurated in 2013, renovation of the school library, science laboratory, and installation of CCTV cameras for round the clock security purposes.

Apparently, due to the insistent demand of the alumni, St. Claire Foundation of Knowledge, Inc. was officially renamed St. Claire School Basic Education as approved by the Department of Education and Exchange Commission.

Walking down memory lane, the school was duly certified by the Educational Service Contracting in 2008 which grants its students a tuition fee subsidy from the government. After a few years, it was re-certified on June 26, 2013. Before renaming it to St. Claire School Basic Education, the school was issued a government permit to operate in 2011 and eventually recognized in 2012.

Guided by its patroness St. Claire of Assissi, St. Claire School Basic Education from its rebuilding stage continues to inspire students to become leaders ready to take on the challenges of changing the world.
